Volunteer with us and make a difference to a young person\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

As an adult volunteer, you can help support young people to thrive and learn. You don\u2019t need any prior knowledge, just a can-do attitude, an interest in heritage and a passion for helping young people thrive!<\/p>\n

Why do we need you?<\/h4>\n

The World Heritage Youth Ambassadors (YAMS) aims to empower young people age 11-25 to have a powerful voice in their own lives, their community and the World Heritage Sector. Using World Heritage as a tool, we work with young people age 11-25, many of whom are vulnerable, to gain skills, confidence, increase self-esteem and of course have fun!<\/p>\n

Where are the opportunities based?<\/h4>\n

Each site has different volunteer opportunities and ways to apply. Please contact the site, which you wish to volunteer with for further details.<\/p>\n

How much time will it take?<\/h4>\n

How much you volunteer is totally up to you. Most people will volunteer between 4-10 hours a month, usually through attending the YAMS clubs and activities.<\/p>\n

What activities might I do?<\/h4>\n

Adult volunteers attend and help supervise the various clubs and activities provided by YAMS.<\/p>\n

Adult volunteers can support young people by providing a listening ear, getting involved in teaching life skills like cooking, or even training in heritage!<\/p>\n

Will I be trained?<\/h4>\n

Yes, there are numerous training opportunities<\/a> available to adult volunteers.<\/p>\n

As a minimum, all adult volunteers will be expected to undertake safeguarding<\/a> training.<\/p>\n

An on-site induction will be offered when you start.<\/p>\n
